Así lo resaltó en la víspera la presidenta de la república, Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, durante la inauguración del cuadragésimo período de sesiones de la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (Cepal), que se realiza en nuestra capital.

La mandataria destacó también la solidez que refleja nuestro país gracias a las políticas implementadas por el Gobierno. “Perú es un socio confiable ante los ojos del mundo. Nos mantenemos firmes y enfocados en el trabajo para mejorar la productividad, reducir la informalidad e impulsar sectores estratégicos”, manifestó.

La jefa de Estado señaló que una de las tareas prioritarias del Gobierno es brindar mejores servicios y fomentar el desarrollo de capacidades que disminuyan las brechas sociales y la desigualdad que afectan principalmente a los sectores más vulnerables de nuestra población.

Del mismo modo, reveló que nuestro país está comprometido con el logro de los objetivos de la Convención Marco de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Cambio Climático, el Protocolo de Kioto y el Acuerdo de París. “Siendo el Perú uno de los países en desarrollo más vulnerables al cambio climático, las acciones de adaptación son de especial importancia, tomando en cuenta que nuestra población en situación de pobreza es particularmente vulnerable a estos efectos adversos”, dijo.

En tal sentido, la presidenta Dina Boluarte afirmó que el Perú ve con interés las propuestas de la Cepal para avanzar en transformaciones que impulsen la sostenibilidad, como la transición energética, la economía circular, la gestión sostenible del agua, el turismo sostenible y la bioeconomía.

CEPAL Y SU ROL INTEGRADOR
En cuanto a la Cepal, la mandataria indicó que esta entidad ha sido fundamental para reforzar la relación entre nuestros países. “Ha cumplido un rol importante en la elaboración de estudios e investigaciones para el diseño de políticas públicas y el desarrollo de proyectos de cooperación técnica en la región”, agregó.

Recordó que el período de sesiones, que se realizará hasta el 11 de octubre, es la conferencia más importante de la Cepal, y en esta oportunidad lleva como tema central “América Latina y el Caribe ante las trampas del desarrollo: Transformaciones indispensables y cómo gestionarlas”.

Aseguró que este evento nos brinda una oportunidad inmejorable para intercambiar ideas sobre los temas de mayor relevancia para nuestros países en materia de desarrollo económico y social, y llegar a conclusiones que orienten las acciones de los Gobiernos hacia beneficios tangibles para la población.

Señaló que en breve Perú recibirá de Argentina la presidencia pro tempore de Cepal para el período 2025-2026 y que durante este tiempo nos comprometemos a trabajar decididamente para impulsar la cooperación entre nuestros países y realizar la coordinación para seguir avanzando en las prioridades de desarrollo.

The Head of State pointed out that one of the Government’s priority tasks is to provide better services and promote the development of capabilities that reduce social gaps and inequality that mainly affect the most vulnerable sectors of our population.

Likewise, he revealed that our country is committed to achieving the objectives of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement. “As Peru is one of the most vulnerable developing countries to climate change, adaptation actions are of special importance, taking into account that our population in poverty is particularly vulnerable to these adverse effects,” he said.

In this sense, President Dina Boluarte stated that Peru views with interest ECLAC’s proposals to advance transformations that promote sustainability, such as the energy transition, the circular economy, sustainable water management, sustainable tourism and the bioeconomy. .

ECLAC AND ITS INTEGRATIVE ROLE
Regarding ECLAC, the president indicated that this entity has been fundamental in strengthening the relationship between our countries. “It has played an important role in the preparation of studies and research for the design of public policies and the development of technical cooperation projects in the region,” he added.

He recalled that the period of sessions, which will be held until October 11, is the most important conference of ECLAC, and on this occasion it has as its central theme “Latin America and the Caribbean in the face of development traps: Essential transformations and how to manage them ”.

He assured that this event provides us with an unbeatable opportunity to exchange ideas on the issues of greatest relevance to our countries in terms of economic and social development, and reach conclusions that guide the actions of governments towards tangible benefits for the population.

He noted that Peru will soon receive the pro tempore presidency of ECLAC from Argentina for the period 2025-2026 and that during this time we are committed to working decisively to promote cooperation between our countries and carry out coordination to continue advancing development priorities.
