Voto en el extranjero: Es el derecho reconocido por la Constitución a todos los ciudadanos peruanos que residen fuera del territorio nacional, permitiéndoles participar en las elecciones generales y elegir a sus autoridades, mediante la instalación de mesas de sufragio en embajadas, consulados y locales habilitados por el Estado peruano a través del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores.

En esta etapa de la jornada, ya se encuentran votando activamente los compatriotas que viven y trabajan en Nueva Zelanda, Australia, Japón y Corea, naciones donde la Cancillería del Perú, en coordinación con la Oficina Nacional de Procesos Electorales (ONPE), ha dispuesto los locales de votación necesarios, dotados de todo el material electoral, seguridad y personal capacitado para garantizar un acto transparente, ágil y seguro.

Centro de Monitoreo Electoral: Es la instancia técnica central desde donde se recopila, procesa y verifica la información en tiempo real sobre el avance de la instalación de mesas, la asistencia de votantes y cualquier incidencia en todos los locales de sufragio, tanto dentro del país como en el exterior, permitiendo tener una visión global y precisa del desarrollo del proceso.

Según el último informe emitido hasta las 18:00 horas por el Centro de Monitoreo Electoral, el avance es altamente satisfactorio: de las 104 mesas de votación programadas para estar operativas en esta zona geográfica hasta esta hora, ya se encuentran debidamente instaladas, funcionando y recibiendo votos un total de 72 mesas, lo que representa un porcentaje importante de ejecución y confirma la eficiencia de la logística internacional organizada por la Cancillería.

Las autoridades destacan que, aunque la distancia geográfica es grande, el vínculo con la patria se mantiene intacto, y la participación de estos peruanos es fundamental, ya que su voto tiene el mismo valor y peso decisivo que el de cualquier ciudadano que vota dentro de las fronteras nacionales. La jornada continuará hasta la hora establecida por la ley, permitiendo que todos los inscritos puedan acercarse a emitir su sufragio y hacer escuchar su voz en la definición del rumbo del país para el periodo 2026-2031.

Vote from abroad: The right recognised by the Constitution for all Peruvian citizens living outside the national territory, enabling them to take part in general elections and choose their authorities. This is made possible through the establishment of polling stations in embassies, consulates and premises authorised by the Peruvian State through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At this stage of the electoral day, fellow citizens living and working in New Zealand, Australia, Japan and the Republic of Korea are casting their votes. In these countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE), has made available the necessary polling stations, fully equipped with all electoral materials, security measures and trained staff to ensure a transparent, efficient and secure process.

Electoral Monitoring Centre: The central technical body responsible for collecting, processing and verifying real‑time information regarding progress in setting up polling stations, voter turnout and any incidents occurring at all voting centres, both within the country and overseas. It provides a comprehensive and accurate overview of how the process is developing.

According to the latest report issued by the Electoral Monitoring Centre at 18:00 hours, progress is highly satisfactory: out of the 104 polling stations scheduled to be operational in this geographical area by that time, a total of 72 have been duly set up, are functioning and are receiving votes. This represents a substantial rate of implementation and confirms the efficiency of the international logistics organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Authorities emphasise that, although geographical distances are great, ties with the homeland remain unbroken, and the participation of these Peruvians is fundamental: their votes carry the same value and decisive weight as those cast by any citizen within the national borders. The electoral day will continue until the time established by law, allowing all registered voters to come forward, cast their ballots and make their voices heard in defining the country’s course for the 2026–2031 term.
